Dombird was formerly associated with the Palm Beach County Poultry Fanciers Association (PBCPFA). During that time, I was the newsletter editor. This page contains archived versions of the PBCPFA newsletter during the time I was the editor. We generally had a newsletter come out about once a month. Sometimes, if I was too busy, we put out a postcard with a brief president's report instead of a newsletter. For those months, there was no newsletter. In some cases, the newsletter was simply lost and we don't have a digital copy for that month.

The information presented here is for informational purposes only. Throughout this archive you will see references to outdated links and email addresses. I also noticed that our area code changed so none of the phone numbers are accurate.

Back in the 1990's, this web site originally started out as a PBCPFA only website called www.afn.org/~poultry. When I left the PFCPFA in the early 2000's, DOM_BIRD was split off from the original afn site. The PBCPFA failed to continue development of their version of the site and it completely disappeared from the Internet when the host, Alachua Freenet, went belly up around 2007. Since they don't have a web site to post newsletters themselves, I am posting what I have here.

Sadly, many of the people mentioned in the newsletters have passed away. I can name a few, but I'm sure there are others:

For those that are curious why some newsletters are in PDF format and others are in HTML format, back when these newsletters were first produced, most everyone on the Internet used dial-up. So, while PDF files were much easier to make, they would take about 10 minutes to download. To make it easier to download, several of the newsletters were converted to HTML which was much faster to download. Today, everyone has high speed Internet so a PDF file only takes a split second to download. The fact that they aren't all HTML is simply because I didn't have enough time to convert them.

As the club newsletter editor, I frequently obtain permission to copy copyrighted text from certain poultry publications. This permission occasionally does not include electronic copies such as those presented here. As a result, the newsletters included here have been edited to remove all copyrighted text that we do not have permission to copy in electronic form.
